Background
Pressurized water reactor (PWR) is the major reactor type in the world wide. The innovative PWR technology is advancing towards the small-size and integral or modular design. Unresolved challenges are still confronted in thermal-hydraulic design and safety analysis of innovative PWR technology. These challenges are usually related to two-phase heat transfer under high-heat-flux or highly-transient conditions, e.g., departure from nucleate boiling, reflooding of reactor core in case of loss of coolant accident. Advances in experiment instrumentation and numerical simulation have been continuously providing new solution or knowledge to tackle the unresolved challenges. The workshop invites world-wide participants, especially early-career researchers, to communicate their recent work in the field of thermal-hydraulics related to pressurized water reactor, including experiments, numerical simulation and analysis.
